J.J. - Senior Portraits
Posted on April 29, 2008
Last night had the pleasure of shooting J.J.’s senior portraits. Tried a little variety this time, first with some natural light and then with strobes when it got dark.

The colors come out great when you combine the industrial look with a touch of cross-process.

I don’t know which on of these I like more but I think they definitely ready for Sports Illustrated the year book.

A perfect pose for the QB.

Francia & John’s Engagement
Posted on April 20, 2008
Took my friends, Francia & John out last night to shoot some engagement pictures. Again, I used my new Speedlite setup and again it rocked! I had a great time with these guys! Leave ‘em some love (and me too! I would like to hear what you think of the new style).
As you can see… They got along with the camera quite well.

Seriously, I don’t know what this was about but it just cracked me up.

Had a great time guys! Thanks!

Test Shoot for New Technique
Posted on April 7, 2008
Since I do the majority of my work on location (and not having an assistant 100% of the time) I recently decided to ditch all of my bulky, awkward studio lights in favor of smaller, more manageable Speelites. My whole setup loads into two bags which is extremely convenient when you are trying to move fast and keep things from getting stale when shooting. I took my lovely wife out to my secret location and shot her with a three light setup, which took me all of ten minutes to get up and running. I usually don’t post stuff like this here but I am very happy with the results and would like some feedback. So, comment away! I want to know what you think.

Michelle and Geordy’s Engagement
Posted on February 12, 2008
This past Sunday I shot an engagement for an old friend of mine, Michelle and her fiance Geordy. They wanted to shoot in the oh-so-popular downtown Tulsa so we romped around down there for a while and then headed to the river to catch a few in the tasty late afternoon sunshine.
I experimented with some textures on these photos… I have been doing it for a while trying to get the right look but these are the first ones I have ever posted. I wouldn’t mind some feedback!

The infamous blue door

Changed up a bit with a texture overlay

Love the feel of this one…

and of course, flair!

More textures

And one without. And thanks to both of you guys for being such troopers! I took them down to the falling down warehouse where we had been doing some of our recent Sunday shoots. It made for some great shots though, don’t you think?

And my pick from Riverside.

Thanks guys! Looking forward to shooting the big day!

Sunday Photo Excursion
Posted on February 4, 2008
Sunday was yet another beautiful day to go out with our cameras and shoot what we could find.
Zane, Dayton and I headed out early in the morning and hit the flea market out on the East Admiral.

Most people weren’t too hot on the idea of us shooting pictures of their junk but we got luckier as the morning progressed. If anybody needs new boots, we know the place!

One of the many shacks people rent to sell their stuff from.

My new kicks…

A young lady was selling frozen treats out of this OLD Chevrolet ice cream truck.

Remember Chucky? Meet his nephew…

I will add a couple more images from the flea market later… so stay tuned.
Later in the day we met up with some of Zane’s students from Apertures Photo and went to a couple old warehouses on the outskirts of downtown. Nothing too crazy but I managed to catch a couple decent shots.

Hopefully we will have some new ideas and places to shoot coming up really soon. So check back and see what’s happening!

Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!
Posted on January 27, 2008
Today we finally had our first meetup for our Sunday photo safari. Nothing specific planned, just load up with the cameras and go find something to capture. I met Zane early for a scouting session and then we went to Apertures Photo to meet some of his students that wanted to tag along. We plugged around downtown for a bit , met up with Liz, her husband and then hit up an abandoned warehouse that we found earlier… and we all captured some great images.
The first keeper of the day.

A bug eyed hydrant

Zane trying to get out of the warehouse

No idea what this thing is but it sure did make for an interesting image, don’t you think?

I love red…

I got a kick out of this busted up old van… One of my favorite captures of the day.

Hopefully we will see more cooperative efforts like this in the near future. We all had a great time and I think everyone learned a little. Drop us a line if you want to tag along next time!

First Wedding of 2008 - Merideth & Brian
Posted on January 22, 2008
Welcome to my new blog! I wanted to post up about this event sooner but I was waiting for this baby to get launched first.First, let me say that Merideth and Brian have been such a blast to work with. Their friends, family and everybody was so much fun! Their Wedding was held at Christ The King Parish in Tulsa and the reception was held at the legendary Mayo Hotel in beautiful Downtown Tulsa.
Here are the pics! Hope you enjoy the new JasonPerryPhoto.net Blog!
Merideth’s stunning dress with some killer flare.

Brian’s first glimpse of his bride coming down the isle

I just love it when you can get interesting perspective.

The newlyweds first dance

Everyone catching the best mans speech.

I just love the details on all these old art deco buildings! This was a shot of an elevator door. I wish it wasn’t dark out because the outside is simply awesome.

As you can see, Citizen Mundi packed out the dance floor. And for a good reason, these guys rock!

Merideth’s mother out dancing it up.

So yeah, they had a good time…

Really, you had to be there

And don’t forget that you, too are Citizen Mundi!

Man, I had a great time with this group! I hope Canada was fantastic! I wish you all the best.
